I need a gas tank drain plug ......

Does anyone know if I can order a gas tank drain plug online or do I need to find a wrecked BMW- and take it off that. Or do I have to replace the whole gas tank? Any help will be appreciated.

you can order it, it's about a $1 or goto a junk yard and get one. did you strip it ?

I didn't strip it I bought a 1988 325IS for 500 bucks. Well i got my money's worth. Everything leaks and all the interior lights that are not supposed to come on unless there's a problem are on. But the fuel drain plug is leaking gas slowly and I can't find that part online to save the car.. Do I need to go to a dealer ship? The junkyard seems the best bet. Thanks for the help

Pull the plug and examine it. Unless the plug is bady corroded I'd think it more likely that the leak is from a corrosion pinhole in the tank. If it is leaking from a bad plug a bit of gas-proof sealant should stop the leak, at least for a while.
