well....i was driving on the freeway and long story short i ran over something metallic and it poked a hole in my fuel tank. i noticed it when i filled up, gas starting pissing out the side of my car so i drove it to the nearest place that might have something (harbor freight) and jacked thee car up. cleaned the hole with a wire brush, sprayed some carb cleaner on it and then patched the hole with the J-B weld stik putty in a tube (the kneadable one). It holds fine now, and they say it cures in gasoline, and is petro/chemical/water resistant....im just wondering...how long do you think this will last before it disolves/breaks/cracks/ pretty much fails? BTW i have an 89 with a 14 gallon steel tank.
is it hard to pull the gas tank out? can it be repaired?
