    Stock aux fan mod

I'm interested in modifying the stock aux fan so it runs on high all the time ONLY when the A/C is on. In other words, I don't want the fan to run on high all the time, just during A/C operation. I don't know much about electrical schematics but I'm pretty good with a solder iron. Can this be done? Thanks in advance!

I thought that the fan is on high all the time when the a/c is on to help cool the condenser.

That could be done, but why? Under normal operation the speed of the aux fan is controlled by temp sensors in the radiator. There's no reason to run the fan on high speed if the radiator temp is low.

If you are trying to cure an overheating problem you need to identify and fix the cause rather than treating the symptoms.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I think he wants to get more performance from the a/c while in low rolling speed situations/stopped

I had done this when my aux fan resistor was bad. I jumped terminals from the low speed relay to the high speed relay. I just used a piece of wire, like 12-14awg. Jumped the control side of low speed, to control of high speed, in your case youll need to leave the low speed relay out, since your resistor is ok.

Dan where is the aux fan resistor located at?

I don't have an overheating problem. The reason I'd like to do this is to cool the condenser more efficiently and thus produce the coldest air possible. For those that have converted their A/C systems to R134A, you've noticed the cold air is marginal at best during a hot day. This is partially due to the fact that R134A boils at a higher temperature than R12. With the aux fan running on high all the time (during A/C operation) the condenser is getting the maximum cooling it needs. The bottom line: the more cooling the condenser receives the better
the system is going to cool.
