    Selector Rod Joint Q????

I'm trying to get this off. I have the new one in my hand and where the pin should be it is not. There is a rectangular slot in the passenger side but not ont he other side of the selector rod joint. My car is a 12/83 325.

Driveshaft is still attached after several failed attempts to loosen the bolts. CSB lowered, and tranny mount brace removed to lower the tranny down.

There's a clip on it that you have to pry open and move back to get the pin out. small flatblade screwdriver, a twist and strong fingers.

To get the driveshaft out, loosen the center coupler to give it some play. You may need to tap from behind the diff with a wood dowel and hammer to break the rust etc. that is holding it on.

Thanks for the info about that pin. I thought I was loosing my mind.

But I changed the guibo last summer at a friends shop, and I did a pretty good number on those bolts with an air impact. And I thats the only air tool I dont have right now is a decent air impact. But I dont want to half ass this SSK install, besides I i bought the M3 buffer for the selector rod joint.

have you gotten it off yet, look at the diagrams of it on realoem,

the circular clip has to come off before the pin slides out..

realoem doesnt have anything for 12/ 83 that i could find, so i assume its the same

No I didnt get a chance to mess with it last night, I was hunting around for some who sells the selector joint seal for less than $28(dealers price). An independent Benz shop has it for $9.20 and I'm picking it up on my way home from work.
