Had a minor encounter with a deer..

..and (thankfully) broke only my driver's side high beam. However, I have US ellipsoids, so the repair is more than just picking up a new sealed beam.

My question is: what are my options? I know that the most obvious thing to do would be to buy a new 9005 high beam, which is roughly sixty dollars, but I want to see if there are any other paths I could take. I wouldn't like to spend vast amounts of money, but if there is a relatively cheap upgrade from the stock 9005's that I can make, I'm more than willing to do it.

    Please help me! TIA

Sorry to hear about your run in with the deer... you seem to have come out lucky compared to most other people. Hearing all of these stories about E30s smacking deer are making me nervous... I've started noticing deer along a 50mph road that I frequently travel on late at night.

I suggest you install a rocket launcher in the space your smashed headlight used to consume, so you can blast deer into smaller, less damaging pieces in future encounters

If it's on the driver's side high beam, just remove the high beam and get more airflow into intake. :P

That's a novel idea. Or I might be able to hook you with an old cruddy H1 Euro lens as a temporary. Let me check in the room when i get back from Germany on Sunday.

Would it be possible to retrofit a set of euro H1 highbeams (without too much effort)? Or is it just not worth it..?

          TIA
