    Cylinder Head/Intake Photos

    Here are some shots of the head and intake. I'll be installing the head tonight and will update with additional shots of the partially completed block.


    The intake was painted with VHT header paint, using the cast alloy color. I figured this wouldn't be too far from the original aluminum color, but it allowed me to polish off the top a bit.


    I used the same paint on the valve cover for the same reasons.




    Here are some shots of the block before assembly began.
    Dirty as hell.

    This is a stroker, right?
    What are you aiming at for displacement and compression?

      2.7L with about 9.2:1 if my calculations on the head and block decking are accurate.

            did you have that block hot tanked and new core plugs put in???

              Yeah. These shots were before I had it tanked. I cleaned and painted it - even started to do the honing when I found a few lines in the cylinder walls. At that point, I took it to the machinist, along with all the other internals and had everything cleaned and checked. Crank and rods were magnafluxed, and everything was bead blasted. I then had everything balanced. I think I spent close to $800 before I bought anything new. Hope it was all worth it.

                I got to check this out when it is done!

                Go to the F1 Boston meet on May 16th. Will it be ready then?

                  it's totally worth having an engine balanced, makes the worlds difference. make the engine run smoother and vibrate a lot less. you'll noticed les movement in your shifter when you sit in neutral, and of course the rest of the gears too.

                    Not sure I'll have it installed by then. There are still a few things left to do before I can install it. I have to get the timing belt on and it seems much tighter than I would have thought. I'll be back tonight to try again. Once I get it on and everything checks out, I should be able to install. I'm hoping for this weekend. I'll let you know if I'm going.
