OK, so now it's occuring at all throttle levels...not just as WOT.

Any ideas here? I haven't tried putting in a new coil yet...my readings are a bit off what they should be - can someone test the coils in there car and tell me what they get?

    Thanks!

TPS is just a switch, it shouldnt be a "dead spot". Its either, idle, WOT, or somewhere in between. Check the fuel injection harness connector right below the TB. Look at all those pins and see if any of the pins are corroded. How old are all the plugs?

ck the injector, temp sensor connector underneath the TB. If your TB coolant lines have been leaking for while you could have corrosion on that connector... Take it apart, spray it clean and reconnect. Fix that TB coolant leak.

Ck the spark plugs and also the condition of the injectors.

Bentley calls out a resistance reading for the coil. I cant recall the exact value. Sorry.

This is going to sound random. But have you checked your grounds to the engine? Mine were corroded and loose.
Started only at WOT because the engine movement. But then they got so bad it wouldnt start.

          Its worth a try.

No codes? Are the injectors seated properly? You said you put a stroker kit in, did it come with upgraded injectors?

Grounding straps are a good one too, I recently replaced a few of mine. I still say crack open the ECU and see if any connections are broken/ corroded.

I had this happen to me in my e28 (m20). It sounds very similar, (i was running larger injectors as well) but mine was running very rich and got shitty mpg. It turned out to be a bad coolant temp switch.

                    lag at 5300 rpm

Mine did/does the same thing at around 5300 rpm. I searched. One possibility among the many was the fuel pump (there were other signs that mine might be dying). I pulled the rear seat and removed the cover over the fuel pump to take a look and found lots of dust. I cleaned up the dust and replaced the cover thinking I'd get back to it when I had time. The problem disappeared. Month later it starts again and I do the same thing and it works again. I have no idea what is causing the problem to disappear (it ain't the dusting). The problem returns yesterday. I see your post and immediatly try the same thing again (in a starbuck's parking lot no less). It works again. WTF!

I had a friend with this same problem a few years back and it turned out to be the AFM that was causing his problem. His was doing the exact thing yours sounds like and his motor was a budget stroker too. He installed another AFM and it fixed his problem.

I shoulda posted. I tried one of Matt's spare AFMs and the problem is gone!

My car is ALIIIVE once again!

At least until my ujoints crapped out and my head gasket started seeping out coolant. LOL
