j/k you probably couldn't have found it if you didn't know the author's name:

    quick MAF writeup

the MAF conversion is pretty easy, so instead of trying to make some big writeup about it, i'll make it very clear and simple. This guide is meant for people who have a decent understanding of how the SMT6 works, and have attempted to tune their cars a little with it before using a MAF.

    - First, you need an SMT6. It needs to be wired into your ECU harness, and you must have control over the AFM signal. Also, use the AFM signal as your throttle signal. It also helps to have the O2 sensor hooked in for additional data.

    - Next, turn your car on and leave it idle. Turn on SMT6 logging and note what voltages your current AFM is putting out. Rev your engine up to 1K, allow a second for the SMT6 to log what your car is doing. Now, rev up to 2k for a second.

    - Now, drive your car around with logging still enabled. Attempt to subject your car to different loads/rpms. Make sure you do 1 WOT run to redline. Now, you should have a log of what your AFM is doing throughout the throttle/rpm map.

    - Next, get yourself a MAF and install it. I bought a 1998 328i Seimens MAF. As far as installation goes, all you really need to do is power the MAF, and get it's signal. You will most likely need a wiring diagram (http://www.autolib.diakom.ru:8001/CAR/BMW/). If you're using the '98 328i MAF, i believe pin2 is signal, pin3 is power, and pin1 is ground.
Go to link for full write up and some pics too.

Circle the wagons we gots us an outsider!
I am a twenty one yearold gentelman born and raised in Austin Texas, I love the town os much I wear it on my heart. I went to McNeil high school and graduated in the year of 2002. I worked through out my sophmore, junior, and senior years as an actor in every single television and film production I could get my hands in including numerouse feature films. I have been with the same young lady since I was 16. I am 5 10 250lbs, brown eyes, red thinning hair. I am currelnty fifinshing up my first full length screenplay. I bought my 1987 325IS from a gentelman in south Austin who worked for BMW in his native land of England after I found it in the Austin American Statesman classifides. I paid cash $2500 for it. It's alpine white, two door automatic with an unknown number of miles on it from the speedo dying. I have a white out grill on it, a K&N filter and bracket, a Sony Xplod stereo system including 12inch sub amp 51/4 kick speakers 6.5 backseat and 6x9 on the parcel shelf. I am looking to add a header from Ireland and custom exhaust. I restored a 1977 MG Midget 1500 when I was 15 wich gave me a working knoledge of simple mechanics. I have always strived myself on being a different human being ever since I was aware of my enviroment, you can see how I stand out from day to day weither it's thy tattoos or the way I write. I do have seriouse issues with hohmophobia just as I do with racism. If that is a socila crime then try me on thoes charges. I concider myself a gentelman through an through and I was unaware that being a gentelman, standing up for what I belive in, and being different was somthin to be ashamed of. I am who I am and thats all that I am... finish the rest.
