Are tie rod ends my problem?

I have a steering wheel shimmy that is getting worse and worse. It does not happen when i turn or am going really fast - just below 50 mph in straight lines. Should I replace my tie rod ends? I don't think it's my control arm bushings or ball joints - and i know i need an alignment pretty bad. What's the diagnosis?

Check the ball joints, CABs, and tie rod ends for wear and replace if indicated. I like to check ball joints by squeezing them with a large (as in 2') pair of channel-locks. Any motion whatsoever in a ball joint is cause for replacement. And if there's any sign of cracking in the CABs they need to be replaced. Make sure that you don't have a bent wheel, then have the alignment done and the tires balanced.

Note that worn struts will make the slightest wheel/tire problem seem much worse than it really is. If your struts are blown out you may not be able to completely eliminate vibrations in the steering wheel until you replace the struts.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Im having basically the same problem but i have completly new everything for my front end except sway bar links. Ive been told by everyone though its just an alignment needed. But like stated above check it out, you never know.

I got some tie rod ends on the way. I'll install and align with the string method.
