Motometer gauges in a VDO instrument cluster

The odometer (Motometer) went out in my daughters 86 325 at 263K. I went to the pik-a-part yard looking for another eta to pull another instrument cluster. I found a 87 325 that I pulled the instrument cluster (VDO gauges). Everything works great in the VDO cluster except the fuel gauge. When I fill the tank, the fuel gauge only shows 2/3 full. Will the Motometer fuel gauge work in the VDO instrument cluster?

Fuel and Temp Gauges work with all 83 - 93 E30 Clusters, they interchange without an issue.

Tach and Speedo work in 2 different phases, all the 83 - 03/86 ones interchange (3 Red Lights on the S.I. Board) and all 04/86 - 93 ones interchange (1 Red Light on the S.I. Board)
