    Window problems

My passenger window wont go down anymore. one day it just took a dump. i tried switching the switch with one that i knew worked, but to no avail.

car is an 85 325e. Any ideas? its hot, and i have no a/c. putting my window down would be amazing.

Check the fuse. Then see if the motor is getting power or not.

    Come on Mike

checked the fuse (forgot to mention), its all good.

have not checked the motor yet. i just tap into the wires that attachs to the motor on the front side?

and if the motor is getting power, but it still doesnt work, then the motor is shot?

      sounds good mike. thanks.

Is there a seperate fuse for each window? I thought it was just one fuse for both...

Pretty much, Mike. Although I wouldn't stop there if you have the gusto. My passenger side motor wouldn't work at all even though it was getting power, but when I disassembled it and cleaned/lubed it up it managed to function (although at a slower pace than normal).

Check your regulator too and make sure it moves freely. If not, I would lube that as well to reduce strain on the motor.

same thing happened to me. i took the panel off, checked to see if it was geting power (it was) then i hit the window motor a couple of times with a screwdriver and it started to work. havent had a problem with it for 2 months now.
