Conversion of E36 M3 front arm & suspension.

    Hi! M new here.

Need some advise. Just did a conversion to 5 lug. The rear was quite simple since i swap the E36 TI knuckle in but facing some problems for the from. Got the whole set up from the E36 M3. Swing arm & suspension. However, after installing it, the wheel is way to back touching the rear tire wall. Got the KMac but that only pushes it forward less than half an inch. I need to push the wheel forward at least 1.5".

Anyone with any information to solve this? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

You can slot the control arm bushing brackets, or you can get the proper parts in the first place.

No one uses the e36 front suspension because of the problem you are having. You can slot the control arm bushing bracket mounting holes and push them forward a LITTE, but not much.

Get the front suspension off a e30 M3 and be done with it.

Oh ok. Thanks for the info.

Already have the E36 suspension plus the stop tech's BBK so will fabricate something. Wont be able the get the E30 set up as it will be too costly especially the Stop tech.

offset e30 M3 control arm bushings also help if you don't have those
I wonder if anybody has looked into getting a competent shop to heat up and bend the control arms, or even CNC their own custom arms

I have the off set busihing. Will machining out a custom made (not sure what its called) but the thingy that the off set bushing goes into that looks like a lollipop. Angle & length of the mount will be different to push the wheels forwards. I think it should not be a problem sice the new fabricated ones will be out from a steel bloc. Anyway will see how it goes. Should be done by tuesday. If that works that will do an aluminum one.
