A/C - water on passenger floor

I'm hoping someone has come across this before.

When I run my AC on an excessively humid day, i find there is a slow but steady drip of water on the passenger footwell, from near the center console piece at the firewall. It's not coolant - i've mopped it up, and smelled, it's straight water.

I presume it to be condensation in the heater box, but is there a drain somewhere that might be blocked? I can't imagine any other reason for pure (or close enough) water to be coming from there.

Any ideas? My carpet is unhappy.

Yup you've got a clogged drain from the evaporator box.

Link to a similar thread elsewhere that may help.

I have had this problem (I live in a high humidity area) - and I first thought that it was as the previous post says - a blocked drain hole.

However on further inspection I found that this was not the case - the water was coming from condensation forming on the evaporator metal tubes (where the rubber hoses end there is a short length of metal tube that joins onto the evaporator)

To fix this i used a self adhesive foam insulation wrapped around the metal tubes - this stops the condensation forming.

So you may want to check both this and the blocked drain holes
