    E30 glove box fix question

My glove box broke and I researched on line how to fix the glove box

I went to the dealer to order a new latch mechanism and the parts counter told me that their were two upper catch mechanisms
    Part # 511619556759 & 51161849472

I went to Real OEM website to look at what parts I needed because I figured the parts guy was confused and he turns out he was right.

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...52&hg=51&fg=30

They also show upper catch part #'s. I'm confused now.

I'm looking for advice from someone who's been there, done that in regards to fixing their broken glove box. What is the catch part # that I need to order? This is going on a 89 325i. After I fix the glove box on the 89, I'll tackle the broken glove box on my 86 325.

That part # is a $60 part, I only need the catch which is a $15 part. I just don't know which one to order.

Do you still have your broken old catch? Maybe it will have a part number on it somewhere. Just match it up that way if you want to be certain.

          so you need?

the catch only? not the actual handle? I got an extra part for the top. If you want it.
