lots of questions (engine and cleaning related

1.) does the fuel rail just pull away from the intake manifold, i was trying to remove it today so i can paint the intake manifold while its off the car. I didn't wanna break anything so i didn't use much force.

2.) what can i use to clean out the inside of the intake manifold (its black as shit in there) or do i not need to worry about this.

3.) what do i use to clean the shit off the tops of the pistons. they are covered with blackness.

4.) while the head is off and i have everything out of the engine bay is there any "while i am in theres" i should take care of.

5.) my powerstearing resavoir seems to be leaking a bit, any ideas? it might just be the hose but i should probably investigate further.

    1) The fuel rail is held by 6mm bolts (10mm hex head). Look under the rail from the passenger side, just above the valve cover.
    2) Use aerosol carb and intake cleaner.
    3) Use a soft wire brush and a soft stick, like a popsickle stick. Remember the pistons are soft aluminum and you don't want to gouge them.
    4) Change all the coolant hoses and vacuum hoses. Of course, use new intake manifold gaskets.
    5) It's probably the hoses...it's a common problem. Try tightening the clamps first. If it has crimp style clamps, replace them with the screw type.
    Good luck!

so do the injectors just slide out...because i had undone those bolts already (intake manifold is out of the car) and i couldn't get them out easily.
