    Help diagnosing engine hesitation

Both my car and my brother's car (325i, 5 spd), hesitate slightly when the engine is cold (well, it was 70F out this morning). It'll start fine, idle perfectly, but the first time I get on the gas it hesitates for a second before it takes off. It will do that once, and behave perfectly after that. I also noticed that occasionally it also takes a few cranks to start.

A week ago I cleaned the AFM because it was sticking a bit. the idle valve is about a year old. I can hear the TPS click as the TB closes. I sprayed carb cleaner around the intake boot and vacuum lines and found no vacuum leaks.

    What else am I missing?

It probably wouldn't hurt to change your plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor. When were they changed last?

That's exactly what I was thinking...

It'll get harder and harder to start until it just doesn't start at all one day. Do it NOW (arnold schwarzenegger voice)

i replaced the plugs about a month ago. All ignition parts are about a year old. I also replaced the injectors about a year ago.

Dirty throttle body, AFM door sticking? Have you checked your air filter... or even your gasoline filter?

My car does this too when it's cold out (below 50 or so) and it never gets any worse over time. It's been going on for years, just a bit of an annoyance. I've changed every part on that car, nothing made a difference. The only thing that made it slightly better was putting the OEM chip back in. IMHO I wouldn't worry about it.

I cleaned the throttle body. AFM door was sticking but i cleaned it and it is now opening/closing properly. Fuel filter is new as well. I guess I forgot to mention a few things. I ran seafoam about 5-10k miles ago.
