    UK RHD headlights

I'm in the UK, and I was thinking about picking up some euro smiley's, but the junker said that they wouldn't work because the light output will be shot to the left into the oncoming traffic. I've searched, but I've just found conflicting information.

Will RHD headlights work on LHD cars?

Euro ellips are adjustable. There are 3 screws on the back of the ellips that you unscrew and then you can adjust them for RHD or LHD.

LHD euro lights wont work on a RHD road, because the light cut-off would blind oncoming drivers. You can get by this with the adjustments, but it would be half-ass hack, or you can take them apart and fiddle with the cut-off.

Purchase a set of lights that is meant for a RHD car. OR take them apart, and move the cut-off

Hmm, i just realized that this is exactly what other ppl said. Disregard me.

Well, just for clairification I want RHD lights to work on a LHD car.

"mode", by saying you can "take them apart and move the cut off" you just mean that you adjust the 3 screws? What would be half-assed? Are RHD and LHD lights fundamentally different besides the adjustment?

I was saying it would be half assed to move the aiming screws to compensate.

Using the aiming screws to compensate would be half assed, however, there are the above mentioned screws for switching the euro ellipse between LHD and RHD, which is not half assed. You do not need to open up the lights or disassemble anything, unlike on other european lights (such as VWs).

So, just to repeat what has been said a few times above, get the RHD ones, they are exactly the same as the LHD ones. Once you have them in hand, you will see the obvious screw on the back that you use to adjust the driving side.
