    Auxilliary fan related questions.

Hello from super warm Greece to everyone reading this forum! :D
I havent really done any maintainance to my air con for the past
2 years but now with the temp going over 40C here,I need to! :-(
1.Does the aux fan in front of the air con radiator
spins at all with the air con not operating?
2.If I press the blue Air con
button on my dash is it(=the fan) supposed to start immediately or after 4-5 min?
3.What relays/fuses I have to check in order to be sure?
4.Can I wire the aux fan so I can operate it manually? Any DIY on this?
Some punks over here told me I cant do it on an E30 and someone even
asked me some 80$ to wire it cos he needed to disassemble the whole
front of the car to get there! Haha, and I m not talking about
    a stealer you know!
Thank you all fro your time replying to these questions...;)

The aux fan is enabled by the unloader relay that operates if A/C is selected. Once enabled operation of the aux fan is controlled by the thermoswitches in the radiator. The A/C should operate as soon as you select that mode, providing the compressor and the rest of the A/C system is good and that sufficient charge is present in the system. And the aux fan is only necessary when the vehicle is stopped or moving very slowly. A lack of A/C or poor performance is more likely to be a compressor or charge problem than an aux fan issue.

It is possible to rewire the system so that the aux fan can be operated manually, but that will require an additional relay and a good bit of re-wiring.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Hm,thanks a lot for the info! Much needed! Today I got it to a shop,
replaced a realy in the engine bay near the air con compressor and charged the system with R12 and now all is ok and the air con is stronger than ever!
The system was totally empty after 3 years of no operation at all...
      I had to pay 85€ (almost 120$) for this.Which sucks,but anyway...:D
