Modic Problem

anyone have MODIC? well... it hooks up fine to the obd2 and recognize my e38 just fine, but it wouldnt recognize the e30. It simply refuse to even get the vin. Tried it on my gf's car too it wouldnt recognize the vin. And can't pull any datas.

running version 27. Anyone can help? Know why? I'm trying to flash my dme. oh and when it pulls out the dme config part it only have selection for m42 m42 and the 50 engines not the m20.

What you are trying to do isn't going to work on a 91 325i/e. The VIN isn't stored in electronic form and the DME isn't flashable. I think that at most all you can pull from the DME (with the right diag system) are any stored fault codes.

hmm

that would explain alot of things... haha I want to stay with the stock chip and flash the memory... any idea of how else to do this?

To the best of my knowledge, noting in the DME on an E30 is changeable w/o changing chips.
