      never heard of them. most people prefer to use JC/Turner motorsport chips, they are well established in the e30 community, with dyno proven gains

        The JC chip is considered a power chip, a chip that runs the engine for more power. The JC chip is one of the most popular, I have hte viper2 chip i got from the group buy here, it is a really great mod.

          I thought powerchip was a company that made "chips" for other makes, like Hondas and the like... :?

          Doesn't matter really, if you want any change in performance, the Jim Conforti chip is THE way to go. DEFINATELY worth the $250 for an IS chip - hell, find one used for $150.

            I've always heard any power boosting chip called a power chip.

              nah powerchip is an actual company and when i looked at the place last time (a few months ago) i think they said it could boost you to 200 with 93 octane
              umm
              let me get the link

                Juding from this:

                In standard form, the 325i E30 2.5 produces 168 hp and 181 lb.-ft.
                located here: http://www.powerchipgroup.com/produc...=1989&make=BMW

                umm...since when??? if it did - I'd be happy! :D

                HOWEVER - hate to say it, but a stock M20 does not put out that much torque. Judging from this information, it would make me very reluctant to purschase anything from them.

                Don't hesitate to buy a Jim Conforti chip from http://turnermotorsport.com/ - this guy knows M20's so well (as well as numerous other BMW engines) - and his chip is THE BEST for any M20 powered E30.

                Not only that, powerchip charges a lot more... :?
