    power steering problem...

when my car is cold, there is a distinctive hum (presumably power steering pump), which increases in loudness when turning. however, when the car is warm, the noise is no longer present, or at least decreased.
so is my pwr steering pump the problem?
or should i try power steering fluid additives to get rid of the noise?
    thanks...

The first thing I'd try is to change the fluid. If that doesn't help you'll need to replace the pump.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
