which oil (cstrl/vlvln/mbl1)?

1. Castrol GTX 20w50
2. Valvoline 20w50
3. Mobil 1 15w50

I like Mobil 1. Reason being, an engine that has ran it for the majority of its life looked brand new inside. No real reasons other than that.

Redline and and Amsoil end up being like $60 oil changes, compared to about $25 for the Castrol. So I'm not sure if they can be easily compared. If money is no object, I'm sure Redline is the way to go. Or you can also try Elf, i've heard it's very very good. I ran Mobil1 for the last 3 years, and I recently switched to the castrol 20-50 HM. No change in how the car runs, but (oddly) i think I burn more oil with the castrol than the mobil1.

I run Castrol 20W-50 because I've been recommended that from many different credible sources.

Several different E30 experts have told me the same without knowing I've asked others.

I run Castrol GTX 20w50. I will run mobile 1 when I get my new motor put together. It is like 10-11 bucks for a 5 quart jug at walmart. You can't beat that price. 15 dollar oil changes with good shit FTW!

I get a gallon of redline for $30 at jegs. With the s50 it takes 6 quarts.
