    Ticking valves??

Im finished with my new turbo project, and started the car for the first time yesterday, and the valves, were really loud. I adjusted the valves to .010 when it was cold, and it still sounds the same. It has to be the vavles it sounds exactly like vavles but just really loud. it sucks because everything else accually seems really good, engine wise. Its idling smooth, and sounds good. Its just this damn ticking. If you have ticking valves will it do anything bad? Or your car may not just run as good and have ticking valves. Im thinking maybe just let my car run longer, and take it for a drive see if it quiets them down? Is there anything else that would cause a ticking noise like from the head besides valves? But would it be save to drive with valves tickimg really loud? I just don't want to cause any damage.

    This is AFAIK:
    a) It could be clicking injectors, but unlikely by your description
    b) Valves adjusted tight could lead to broken rocker arms
    c) Mine were adjusted the same as your, and are loud.....more so than before. I'm thinking of adjusting them warm myself. Really starting to annoy me.

When i adjusted mine i accually had to loosen a lot of them because they were tighter then the .010. I don't know how loud your are, but mine are crazy loud. I don't even have an exhaust on my car, and i can easily here the ticking over the exhaust. I just don't want ot cause any damage thats why, i was wondering if i should drive?

Slide the next smaller gap feeler in and see how tight it is. Sometimes you're tightening them more than you think. If it feels pretty tight with these, loosen them up. Once done, try sticking the next larger in. If you can get them in, you've gone too far. I did this on mine and once I got them right, the noise was almost gone.
