    A/C dryer switches

I'm replacing the rec/dryer in my project car. There are two switches on it. One looks like an old fashioned oil pressure switch, the other has a short electrical lead on it.

    Items 19 and 20 respectively.

The threads stripped out of switch #19 when I removed it. The online ETK lists the same part number for both switches... huh? Clearly they aren't the same. I'm not much of an A/C guru, Are these the high and low pressure switches? Which is which? These seem like the sort of part I should be able to find locally, I just need to know what it's called.

    Thanks,

Those are the high and low pressure limit switches and as you surmise they are different. There's probably an equivalent part used on some other vehicle, but finding it could be less than easy. The path of least resistance would be to visit your dealer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Those switches are not expensive.

You can buy both for under 30 dollars I believe.

Got it figured out. Item #19 is the low pressure switch. Pelican Parts has it for $11.00. On a whim, I visited my local NAPA store. They have a combination hi/lo switch for about $90. Ouch.

Those are the high and low pressure switches like stated above. One of them used and oring and the other did not. I just got done rebuilding the ac in my 88 325is and was able to pull these switches from a junked '87 325e. They worked perfectly.
