M20B25 150k on it. Car is tracked heavily and it gets Redline 10W-40.
For the past few years oil pressure read 75 psi cold start, 12 hot idle and would still pull 50psi at 260 degree oil temps at rpm.
Last track day noticed oil pressure down to 25 (does this normally in some corners) and never came back up like it usually does. Brought car in and still went to 12 psi at idle and would barely move when throttle blipped. Put car on trailer and drove home.
What I've done so far:
1. Started car cold and max oil pressure was 40 psi.
2. Wired another oil pressure gauge and sending unit in different location and started car again - Both gauges matched readings, so it's not a sending unit issue.
3. Pulled oil pan - no obvious blockage, no big metal chunks or anything and there is no apparent bearing damage visible just by looking up at motor.
My thought is that I possibly need a new oil pump but was looking for other possible causes? Any ideas?
