Hmmm black smoke from the exhaust...

Ok, going to shorten the story up a bit, but here it is. Second gear, 3K rpm decide to floor it, once I hit redline I shift, during the shift as my foot releases the gas, i'm confused as hell because the throttle is stuck to the floor. In the confusion I didn't get into third fully and had the pleasure to hear the wonderful noise of my gears grinding, along with a big ass puff of black smoke from the exhaust. Now when I missed the shift and grinded the gears, my tach did not only go past the 7K redline, it went all the way around before I could pop the throttle back up... Car seemed to run fine after that, but I haven't pushed it since and probably won't until I replace all the bushings/ and or get a short shift assembly to kill the slop and find why my pedal stuck.

So my question is what the hell was all that black smoke that came out of the pipe?...

    Thanks.

Carbon. Your car should run a little better now since you cleaned the cob webs out of it.
