    moisture under rear seat

i removed my rear seat today (bottom part). upon removal, i noticed a really bad smell (almost moldy), and sure enough, the bottom of the seat (styrofoam) and the area under the rear seat are wet.
has anyone else experienced this? i'm guessing that water is coming in from under the car...
i would appreciate help from anyone who has had this problem or thinks they know the answer!
    thanks

There shouldn't be any way for water to enter the car from uder the seat. But leaks at the sunroof coupled with plugged drains, rear windows, or trunk can allow water to reach that area.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
