well i think its a fuel problem anyways i just bought a 325i ( for 200 bucks and it runs great btw) and while driving it sometimes feels like the motor isn't getting any gas. this usually happens while driving at low rpms. i havent really dug too deep into the problem so far. I have a feeling it would be a cloged fuel filter( havent changed it yet, and the car had been sitting for 3 years) but could it be any thing else like a bad ignition comp. somewhere? thanks for any help you guys can give me

ok soooo... which of you assholes on this board wants a handjob first? WTF I've been reading the board for a long time. I have only had my 318 so i only used m42.net, now that i have a 325 i've found that this was the best forum for it. i dont know too much about motors (i only went to school for auto body) but if anybody needs info about bodywork i would be glad to offer any assistance i can. so ilike before if anybody would like to help me that would be great. that would really show to me that it would be worth helping people that will be willing to offer me thier vast wisdom of bmw knowlageGetting there

The filter is an easy fix and most likely issue. It could be the pump, FPR, or injectors as well. The FPR is also very easy to change out. Also check the vacume hose that goes from the intake manifold to the FPR, it could be dry rotted and cause issues. The filter most likely needs to be changed anyway, so do that first, along with the vacume hose. In fact you will want to check out everything rubber, and your belts, if the car has been sitting for that long. As you know check for rust as well. The shock towers are very important to check for rust. Good luck and have tough skin around here.Originally posted by KingBScratch my back and I buy a prostitute for you, to rub your balls. start with the fuel filter. next, dump a can of seafoam into your tank. start the car up, and rev the shit out of it for a while. not redline, but give it some good revs.. clear out the crap stuff in the cat, and the fuel injectors, and the fuel lines. if its been sitting, you're going to have a tough time. let the junk clear out before you go to replace the fuel pressure reg and injectors. they will just get clogged up again.

hey thanks guys. I am def trying to take care of all the dry rot in the vac lines first i think there is like five good lines in the whole car i have already replaced the rubber fuel lines because of pinhole leaks but the intake tubes are f'd. so ill do that and the seafoam too i had used that in the 318 and it worked like a charm so thanks for the help and hopefully i'll be able to show everybody some progress with this cahGetting there

The only problem with seafoam is that sometimes it kills O2 sensors.
