    Source for 3M 4314 Tape?

Before I have an aneurism, maybe someone can help me out.

I had to replace my wiper motor. So, I had to pull the blower out. In the process of doing so, I noted that the foam tape that seals the doors on either side of the blowers was essentially gone - the slightest touch turns it to dust.

I figured I'd order new seals, but have yet to find them in the ETK.

So, since I had to go to the parts store anyway, I figured I'd just get some generic foam tape. No dice, all they carry anymore seems to be the EPDM rubber, too thick and heavy for those doors IMO. I started looking around the 3M website and found what looks to be the perfect tape - number 4314, in a variety of widths, is charcoal gray, open-cell foam tape with a good adhesive on one side and very compressible, and only 6.4mm thick - just what the doctor ordered.

Every single place I have found it online wants me to buy a whole case of the stuff, at prices ranging from $170/case to over $200/case.

I need like two feet of it, if that, not a case.

Anyone know where I can order specific 3M tape online that isn't in a case-lot??

Or, does anyone know if there is are part numbers for replacement seals for all the little flapper doors in the heater box?

          Sealing tape

Try Lowes or home depot. they have a good selection of foam seal products. If they dont have your size, try scissors or razor cutter to trim it.

Yes, but at $38.07 I should be able to buy at least 4 rolls of the stuff, and that's still overpriced. It's foam tape, for Pete's sake!

Yeah, I'm gonna go there tomorrow and look.

What pains me is that I can find exactly what I want on 3M's website, but then I can't find anywhere that either stocks it or lets me order just 1 roll at a reasonable price.

I was hoping someone might have an 'in' somewhere that sells 3M tape... :)

How wide does the tape need to be? and what default thickness? I might have something for you...

It's hard to tell how thick it originally was, and I can't find any specs anywhere for it.

Either 1/4" or 3/8" wide, probably no more than 1/4" thick unless it is very easily compressible.

Edit: I've lost my metric tape measure, sorry for the standard measurements! :)
