Odometer stopped working for the second time.....

So a couple of weeks ago my odometer just quit. I pulled the cluster and looked at all of the gears and none of them were stripped. I even spun it by hand and it worked perfectly. I put the cluster back in and the damn thing worked again. BUT, ever since then i'm only getting around 200 miles per gas tank.....or at least that's what my odometer is telling me i'm getting.

Anyways, I just took the car out tonight and it stopped working again and i'm 99% sure the gears are NOT broken. Do i need to replace the electric motor?? What else goes bad with these things?

I replaced the SI board no less than 3 months ago.

DId you get the gauge circuit boards reflowed?
Cold joints can cause cracks in the solder and not make proper contact during heat changes.
