hey all who read this, i just bought a 1991 318is about a month ago. it has 130k on it and i definatley feel that the car could do with less body roll in corners. was looking for sugestions on springs/shocks. i am looking for something definatley stiffer than stock but not a full on race aplication. i dont want to go into the sway bars due to all the welding that i hear has to be done. all though i do want my car to sit lower my main goal is performance not looks. also i figured that if im going to do the suspension i might as well replace all the worn rubber suspension parts (brushings/etc) with new pollyurithane ones. so if u guys could formulate some sort of list of all suspension brushings on my car that would be super, along with your comments about pollyurithane vs rubber. i've herd that the rear shock or sping mount is prone to failure so infromation on how i could locate some bolstered improved possibly after-market mounts would be clutch. So basically what im trying to get at is i want to gut my suspension and if i forgot some key component or if there is something else that i might as well do while i am down there please let me know. i just want to do the suspension once, do it right, and do it in it's entirety, thx for your time.

also i noticed as i cruzed thru your site that there is no real seperation of m20 realted articles from m42 etc. just a thought but u guys might want to organize that where aplicible. after reading some article about timing belts i was afraid that i was about to screw up my whole valve train when it turns out that is not realted to my m42 at all. thx.

i reccomend H&R sport springs paired with bilstein sport shocks. its a great combo. works very well for stiffining everything up while still maintaining a suatable ride hight and comfortable enough ride.
however, i dont think i can help u with your question about replacing bushings and such as i have not gone through that process.98 M3/4/5
