    Refreshing an eta

Well, Dave just bought a new car so I am going to use his to beat up during school.

A few things it needs are:
    1) Parking brake adjusted
    2) shifting linkage rebuild
    3)???

What else should I do before I take this down. Really this car is going to be used for the winter, back and forth to school, back and forth to the junkyard and have a hitch on it for my bike.

What else should I consider doing other than the fluid changes?

Its a 1986 325es so how hard is it to rebuild the shift linkage in it, I know its different from my convertibles.

Am I correct on the parking brake being adjusted or will it need to be rebuilt. Will this be expensive?

My shifter linkage broke in my 85e, while i had it out i put the rebuild kit in it. It's still sloppy as hell.

I also should add that the car has been sitting for about 2 months

            Hmm.. Where to start?
I just bought an 86 325es.. It ran pretty decent. So i thought. Then i started throwing parts at it because of a weird starting issue. But i can almost say it feels like it should now after these parts have been replaced. I think i've spent about 500 dollars on part doing all the labor myself.

            -FPR
            -Timing belt and tensiioner
            -Coil
            -Plugs
            -Distributor and rotor button
            -Fuel/air filter
-Seafoam in the tank and block
            -Coolant flush
            -Waterpump
            -Valve cover gasket
            -Intake boot
-MarkD chip ;) just an extra there. Makes the car run better anyways.

The big things are FPR and filters. Change every fluid you can find. Intake elbow, and little ignition stuff like distributor and rotor button are big. My contacts were pretty worn and probably original... depends on how shitty your eta is running i guess.
