    M42 (e30) aluminum flywheel

Does anyone make an aluminum flywheel for the m42-e30, or is there another option?

Thanks, I had read that, but I can't find a company that carries the flywheel for the m42. Thanks for the info though.

Just do the 325i flywheel swap, it'll be cheaper.

                Thanks guys,

"The 325i flywheel requires a few other modifications to be fitted in the 318iS. Here’s what you need: 325i flywheel, 325i clutch, 325i pressure plate, 325i drive-pinion for the starter motor, and a ‘78-’83 323 throw-out bearing."

ok when doing the flywheel for a 325i- what year 325i should I get, and that throw out bearing from a 323, what year and version (ci,i,it,ic,is) on that also.

I realy apreciate the help, and if you guys have some good links for e30/m42 info let me know, I've only had my e30 for a month, so I'm doing a ton of reading up on her. One day I will know her as well as my supra ;)

                Thanks again

Any E30 325i will work, and any '78-'83 323 throwout bearing. They're all the same engines, AFAIK.

have the 325i flywheel lightened while it's out, you won't regret it and it's not expensive

edit: better yet, but a ltw aluminum m20 flywheel. At 8lbs it'll be a nice revver, I love mine, idle is still smooth at ~650rpm and it revs like a motherfucker (not an m42 though )http://www.mpdonline.com/bmw.htm
