head is on, car is stalling.....???

well the head is back on i figured i would see if it would start before i filled the coolant and stuff back up. it started and stalled. Could this be due to fluids or maybe air in the fuel system? spark, timing? The timing is right because we checked it like 5 times, not to mention i had to adjust the valves and the 1 cylinder was in the proper position. I double checked all the plug wires also.

I have no idea why it didn't stay running so i need some help.

The engine management may have trouble with cold startup without the proper signal from the coolant temperature sensor, so you might want to fill it up with coolant first. I knwo my car sometimes dies because my settings on MS arent perfect. Make sure you dont have any vacuum leaks as well.

alrigth well i filled the coolant put new oil and filter in. its starting, it idled at first then kinda bogs and dies. Could it be that it just needs to get readjusted (i hasn't moved in 3 months). my old problem was that i forgot to cut the zip ties on the death tube. i fixed that and double checked all the connections-all tight. Its not making any bad sounds, and there are no check lights on. It revs well and sounds good, when i have my foot on the gas, but i let it off and it just dies after a few "sputters" if you will. Any suggestions, should i try to drive it around the block and see if it settles in?

It's got ancient gas in it. Did you put Stabil in the fuel system when you stopped driving it?

gas turns to varnish when it gets older. It gums up and becomes well old. You could also have water in the tank if you didn't top the tank off. Water doesn't compress and doesn't burn well if it's not atomized.

Just drive it around, I've noticed with my BMW's that they hate sitting if I let my 88 325is sit for a week without being driven it runs like pure crap for the first little bit.

I'll second that, we just got my buddy's 'eta' back together which had been sitting for a year with a blown head gasket from the p/o. Ran like crap and blew smoke for about 20 minutes. Put a few gallons of fresh gas in there and run it around the block.
