quick question for my oil pan swap

I shouldn't of attempted to do any work under the influence, but I did. Now I have a striped bolt (and almost put a hole in my floorboard..). Its those weird shaped ones on the flywheel cover. I just put whatever fit on and got the one side off, but the other striped. I dont think its a metric size.

What size/kind is it? I'll try and get one size smaller and see if i can hammer it on.

    thanks
    Jon

Those are E-torx. Go to the parts store and buy a small set of them. They are a good thing to keep in your tool box.

Any idea on the size (at work with no bentley at the moment)?

E14 if I remember correctly. You should get an E10 E12 E14 E16 E18 and E20 in a set from Advance auto or Autozone.

That's not surprising. I got mine at a surplus store that handles tools and other manly things.

Yeah, they won't have them at any Crappy Auto stores. You need to go to a real auto parts/tool store.
Or just stake out your local dealer and wait for the Snap-On truck to come by.

I bought an Ampro set at the local Advance Auto, and another brand oem or something like that at the local Autozone. Try an O'Reilly auto parts, they carry KD tools which are pretty good, if none there then try Northern tool (I know they can get them there in a day or two if they don't have them in stock) or even Sears. Of course if you can wait for it You can get them from ebay, Amazon or a host of online tool sellers.

Would waiting another day to get Silicon for the gasket be worth it?
