I have a 84 318i that i put a 87 325is motor in. i swaped everything over but wondering if i need to swap the intank fuel pump and the exterior fuel pump out?

See if it will run with the 318 pump. Most likely both engines run on similar fuel rail pressures. I would try it first, check fuel pressure and see how it drives.
Most likely it will be ok.
