My car is making a strange sound.

I don't know how to describe it other then it sounds like the car is "farting"

After driving the car for a few miles, if you pull over (or in this case stopped to put some gas on) and open the fuel cap pressure is released, and it sounds like the car is farting.

My question is why on earth is the fuel tank pressurizing like this... anyone have any ideas?

The car is finally running tip top. I've been making adjustments, then driving around until I got everything pretty good. I have no problem spinning the tires when I grab 2nd :)

maybe the purge valve on the charcol canister isn't opening to vent fumes from the tank into the engine while coasting?

The charcol canisiter is gone.

The rubber line that went from the hard line on the frame, to the charcol canister now goes straight to the purge valve.

I don't see this being a problem, so long as the valve is working.

Thats fairly nornal.
I think as the fuel circulates it get's heated, expands, and creates alot of vapor in the tank.
This positive pressure actually helps the fuel pump out.
I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't say I'm worrying about it. I just don't like the noise.

The guy at the gas station was rather surprized, he said "I've never heard that noise before... at least not from a car.. well I mean at least not from a gas tank.... (ricer refference lol)

Do you have all the hoses for the fuel expanion tank hooked up right?

The only one of those hoses I messed with was the braided cloth covered one that goes under the metal cover in the wheel well. It was reinstalled.

What purpose does it serve that I care about? There are no vehicle inspections of any sort here.
