Car's not starting...

A couple days ago my car started being very slow to start, was hardly even turning over, but then it would sort of catch and fire to life. This problem continued over the weekend, but today the car won't start at all...doesn't even turn over. But the battery is fine. With the key in the on position the music plays and the subs bump. Any thoughts on what is wrong? could it just be the ignition? Thanks for any help. Probably taking it to Car Tender up here in Washington on Monday or Tuesday, but would like to know what I am looking at in the meantime.

To be honest I haven't looked into the problem that much. I don't have anywhere I need to drive at the moment cause I live on campus up here. It could very well be an issue with the starter. Just want to know all the possiblities so I am not too surprised when I get it to the shop.

i had that same problem. i first replaced the alternator. that didnt do it so i replaced the starter. that didnt work eighther and i was pissed. i had recently replaced the battery so i knew that wasnt it. later on i was testing the voltage from the alternator and then from the battery. i noticed that the voltage from the alternator was lower than from the battery (when the car was shut off). so i figurd that it was in the wire going from the battery to the alternator. also my terminals where pretty dirty, but not corroded.

anyways, to make a long story short: i rplaced the terminals and cleaned everything up and know it starts fine. i had the same exact problem as you though. i mean my car would not start properly, but my system worked fine. it had me confused. i hoped i helped, just check your terminals, or your wiring harness, you probabally have a bad connection somewhere.

Are you assuming that your battery is fine because the radio still works?!?!?!

you may want to chack your ground strap. on the drivers side of the block behind the alternator.

i have a similar problem....but when i try to start my car the ac fan comes on and i cannot shut it off..i jumped the starter and nothing jumped the car nothing....trying poping the clutch nothing.....i kno its something electrical because i have no power inside of the car besides the radio working and the lights and everything works....im lost and have run out of ideas...i checked all fuses and every thing? could it have anything to do with my jc chip?....suggestions are wanted to fix my problem thanks

that happened to me once but only once. i had to disconnect the battery. my dad told me it was the relay. (i dont know if it even has one). but you might want to check if there is one, sounds like it might have gotten stuck or something.

yeah i can hear something clicking like a relay...problem is i dont know which relay is messed up....i guess im gonna have to tow the car...problem is its 60 miles away from my house i was at my summer house with my girlfriend for the weekend....should have stayed home...well at least i didnt go to the meet in the poconos i was planing on it that would have sucked major!!
