    Front end noise

I am going mad with the front end of my car making all kinds of shitty noises while turning the steering wheel and backing out of my garage or a in/out of a parking spot.

Looks like I'll be taking the front suspension / plates apart soon trying to figure out why it's so loud... possibly camber plates need some grease applied to them.

What camber plates do you have? The GC plates are "race type" with spherical metal bearings and they will bind slightly when turning at low speeds, causing noise from the front suspension. Other camber plates of similar design will do the same thing. A bit of lite oil applied to the bearing will help but probably not eliminate the noise.

It's coming from the camber plates area, even with the car sitting and the hood open we tried just moving the steering wheel left/right and the noise is coming from the top of the strut / camber plate area. They are GC plates.

It's a binding, metal on metal noise, not a rattle or a squeek. What is "lite" ?

I know I didn't apply anything when I got the plates installed, I just pulled them out of the box and installed them... stupid me.

Sorry, I meant to say "a bit of lite oil". That's fixed now.

A metal on metal sort of noise when turning the wheels is probably from the spherical bearing in the camber plates. For later cars GC has a race plate with a spherical metal bearing and a street plate. I think the street plate may have ball bearings. I've only seen the race plate for E30's. Try a bit of oil and see if that helps.
