    importing engine from england questions

If I was to import a M50 and 5 speed, I was wondering about problems. Would it be more difficult, as compared to a American M50, to drop into a E30?

Why are you getting it from Ireland, you can get the same parts here, and save yourself the rape in shipping costs.

Do some research, and save yourself a lot of money. I see you are new, we are all here to help with this kind of stuff, you just ask around.

Expect to pay around $4-600 for shipping and then $300-400 for customs clearance. I *highly* doubt that the EPA would be too keen on you importing a european-spec engine.

Your soul, your firstborn child, and all the money you're ever seen in your life.

Seriously man, you can get an M50 and tranny here, you just need to look around harder.

              try ebay

I looked into importing an engine from england a few months ago. It was about $600 to ship it to the nearest port. I never found out with customs and gave up on it. I finally found a yard near by that was willing to sell and M50 and tranny reasonable.

Even if it doesn't, that's still a DAMN good price. You can always find the other things on ebay.
