    What was thing thing in my steering collumn?

    It was laying in the lower plastic cover when I removed it to install the new turn signal switch I got from Brian. Its about 1" long and on the end with the "hat" it looks like something 1/8th inch thick was protruding but that it might have been twisted/sheared off.

    Im now E30less.

    wel it looks like there are two of these things holding in my steering collumn. They have the top part snapped off too so that must be part of the manufacturing. Now I wonder if there is more than just two in there, how could I have an extra?

      Sounds just like a shear bolt that holds the steering column on. Not sure at all why one would be laying in there like that. Very strange. :?
