    Running problems

This might be long.. Sorry. On a 86 325e

I decided to do my booster and pedal bracket this weekend, so I was working in the engine compartment and in the drivers dash.

I thought I was going to have to remove the intake manifold to get the booster out of the car, so I removed all of the nuts and pulled all the wiring through the intake to get it out. The cooling system was in the way so I undid the drivers side motor mount and jacked the engine up enough to get the booster out without removing the intake.

I got it all put back together and tightened back up and bled the clutch and brakes. Now, the car will start up fine but will not stay running. If I hold the throttle high enough, I can keep it running, but as soon as I try to let it idle the engine dies immediately. It runs rough up till about 3k rpm before it smooths out.

    I've tried:
    - AFM swap
    - Checked every vacuum line I could find
    - Took the booster off the vacuum and plugged the port
    - Checked that every sensor was plugged in and was in the right spot
    - Made sure the tube from the intake to block was seated and sealed
    - I unplugged all of the sensors on the thermostat housing and the engine was able to idle (at a raised 800 rpm), but it died when I plugged in the two engine controlling sensors. It still felt like the problem was there, just slightly masked.

I need some good troubleshooting ideas. If I don't get this fixed by tomorrow morning, I'm going to have to rent a car for at least a week.

I got it fixed. One of the intake manifold gaskets was torn.
