    Just remove the A/C system.

Save 65lbs, and you wont need any r134a ever.

good point, but i live in Texas, and with the summer coming up, 90 degree days are commonplace, anybody else know?

I think I have 3.5lbs in my system. It is supposed to be less than r12 (~5lbs?)

I used to run around with 2.5 and it still cooled perfectly (ran out of r134a bottles)

if refilling with r134a you use 85% of the amount of r12 that orignially came in the car. there is a sticker loacted on teh vehicle

              ie:

              r-12 = 35oz
              35 X .85 = 29.75
              r-134a = 29.75oz

              hope that helps
