    dome light problem

ok so my dome lights are all messed up. i replaced the door switches on both sides and i dont know whats wrong. sometimes they work perfectly fine, but most of the time they stay on when i close the door. sometimes they stay on after i close the door but go off after 7 seconds. now i think it is the dome light control module under the drivers side speaker. what do you guys think? i want to be sure it is the control module before i spend money on it. thanks.

They're supposed to stay on for around 5-7 seconds after you close your door.

mine stay on for 5-10 seconds..... if ignition is turned they go off right away... i am pretty sure it is normal as long as they dont stay on forever... unless the switch is on so they are

i think i read somwhere that they have a seven second timer....but my dome lights are possesed. sometimes they shut of right when i close the door and other times they shut of after 7 seconds. but sometimes they dont shut off at all. do you think that it could be the relay/control unit thing under the driver speaker?

Yeah that I would blame the relay. if that door seal where the brake or wiring harness goes in is in anyway bad water could have gotten in there and corroded the relay.
                Im now E30less.
