How difficult to replace the rubber return fuel line?

Hi guys, it looks like the rubber return fuel line that goes from the hard line to the gas tank is leaking and needs replacing. How difficult is this to replace? Is it difficult to access the fuel line and clamp where it connects to the fuel tank?

The car in question is a 1987 E30.

Not easy since its in a weird spot if I know the spot you're talking about.

The only real problem in replacing that tubing is fishing it into place without dropping the tank. You can try attaching a pull line to what's there now and use it to pull the new tubing in.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

its not entirely difficult to drop the tank either. though you have to do a BUNCH to get it done.
remove pan covers, remove drive shaft, remove end of exhaust. undo the wires and hoses (fill line included) and 4 bolts later, its out... at the end of a LONG evening that is.

I almost had the same scare, SEM Chip Guard will deteriorate rubber fuel lines i found out. I had a smidge of over spray. Lucky though it was the feed line from the filter!

Let us know if the fishing thing doesn work out.

i replaced this line on my 318is. i dropped the tank only, and let it sit down on the subframe, then tilted it to the drivers side and reached up and could remove/install the rubber line onto the hard line on the top of the tank. gas went all in my face, usualy stuff, but no that hard.
