    Euro ellipsoid high beam wireup

I have a set of Hella smoked ellipsoids and I can't figure out the ground on my high beams. This post just to the left of where the bulb goes in SHOULD be where the ground plugs in, but I guess maybe it's supposed to be metal? Any other ideas on how to ground these suckers? I just want to do it right, not some hack looking wiring job. Thanks.

Oh, and here's a comparison between the new and old headlights

The ground goes onto that little metal pin:

That's where I figured it's supposed to go. Problem is, that little metal pin is plastic.

maybe its just painted with some rubbery stuff. I still stand that if they are hella and all genuine they would be metal and if they are going to work they HAVE to be metal.

Maybe if you took the M badge off they would change to metal. :P

Badge will go whenever I get around to getting some euro grills. Might have to go back on when I finish the S50 though. ;)

Listen the M badge was a factory option do I need to go get the book out again? Just get out your accessories book. Mine even has rear headrests and rear sunshields listed in them.

As well as the mythical glass moon roof made of 4.8 mm tinted safety glass.

But yes it should be metal if they are true Hella's and I know all mine are.

Try scraping that post with a screwdriver. Maybe they just coated it with something.

You were right. It sure as hell looked like plastic to me, with Hella stamps all over the things. I sanded down the posts with sandpaper and connected the ground. Worked like a charm...except for one of the bulbs must be burnt out or blown fuse. Thanks, Ryan.
