    M50 into 1995 318is

Yeah, a local guy is looking to replace the underpowered M42 in his E36. He was thinking DASC, but I M50 would work too.

How difficult is the swap, I assume it'd be simplier putting the M50 into a E36 chassis than into an E30, and many guys seem to have done it without TOO much grief.

His figure he put out was $3000 to put the M50 in. I figure if me, him, and some other buddies team together we could do it and save him a lot of $$$, if we have the proper instruction. I figure he needs a Bentley, (not sure if he has one right now)

Also, keep an eye out for a M50 in the midwest.

    TIA.

He should sell the 318 and buy a 325. Absolute waste of time to perform that swap.

      True.

If he pays $3k for the swap...thats probably more than the price difference between the 318 and a real 325.

That was also something that was looked into. But he has many modifications done to his car, and I guess didn't think he could find a car with similar suspension mods or didn't want to swap over components.

There are actually two '94 325is localy with some modifications, and for reasonable prices, but he wasn't interested (color). And it's rare to find a 5spd.

But on a side note the car is significantly lighter than the coupe.

No love for the white/tan car though. Even though it's set up real nice.
