I would've guessed 12 to 14 hours myself, but I've never done a swap out on an m42. But 16 sounds pretty fair to me.

I pulled an m42 out of a 91 318is last year at school. Had three other huys with me helping. Took us three hours to get it out. A good tech should have that motor out in no more than five hours, so a ten hour time frame sounds about reasonable.Originally posted by cabriodster87"Honey? What color is this wire? so the engine is damaged then?
you mustve hit the engine pretty bad to be needing a new one and if the damage is that severe you should be needing a new steering rack/knuckle subframe...
THAT or u mustve hit the pan kept driving leaked out all the oil and seized up the motor
good luck either wayOriginally posted by ebelementsAlso, for those who don't know, negative camber is the greatest thing since sliced bread(panera). Even tire wear is for city busses and the elderly.
