Cig Ligher Question

Are they hot (on) all the time or only when the cars on?

I need to know, if no one knows I guess I will find out tomarrow.

if you mean hot as in power... all the time...

if you mean hot to light a cig... only when you push it in..

Ya I ment power.

I dont actually have the lighter part in there, I have a little rubber duck in there. Im just wiring some stuff up and thought I could use that as a source. Oh well I will find another source.

My cig lighter powers my phone even when the car is off and the key is out of the ignition.

So its a constant hot source.

I hooked volt meter on it, and works great, it works just as it was hooked right on battery, 12V when it off and when I start it up 13.9 which how it should be!
