    Will M3 springs...

fit on a 318is? If so, will the car even sit lower at all since it's lighter?

They'll fit. It'll give you a .75" drop all around. Hardly noticable aesthetically, but they're much stiffer.

Well, if the fender gap gets a little smaller that would be great.

I have M3 springs on my car. They actually work very nicely. 8)

Do you have a good picture of you car with them on? I have some on the way and i was wondering what they do visually.

I don't believe the stiffness is much of a difference as all. Coupled with more suspension upgrades it provides a well-rounded setup, though. I've got M3 springs on my car, along with Suspension Techniques sways and quite a few other M3 parts. Takes the twisties quite well. ;)

I dont know how much of the difference on my car was the new shocks and how much was the M3 springs, but they did make a very good difference compared to stock.

IIRC, the spring rates only differ slightly... I believe the rear is ever so slightly stiffer.

Do you get a lot of extra road noise since you don't use any spring pads?

I have the M3 springs also and they work nice with my BS sports.

Compared to the stock springs, the M3 springs have way less coils. I too have heard that the M3 springs dont differ much in rate from the "is" ones, but I find it hard to believe.

Oh, and I couldnt tell much of a difference in noise from removing the spring pads.

Yeah i thought the spring rates were the same.
